Basic training at MCRD San Diego, CA and Camp Pendleton, CA. Stationed on board ship during the Cuban Missle Crisis. Then stationed on Okinawa. While on Okinawa sailed with the 7th Fleet (The Roving Watchdog)Trained in the Philippines (Subic Bay), Japan (Mt Fuji) and Taiwan. Crossed the Pacific twice on board ships. 1964-1965 - Returned to work at Redington. Left in 1965.

1965-1970 - worked as Draftsman / Designer at various Companies. While on contract to Duncan Industries in Elk Grove, I worked on the original designs of the exact fare changers for the CTA busses. At that time Duncan Industries made all of the parking meeters used in the world. What's interesting is the company's original product was the Yo-Yo. remember the saying "if it's not a Duncan it's not a Yo-Yo".

1970-November 14, 2008 - Worked for Fleetwood Systems now a Barry Wehmiller Company. Worked as a Engineer, Engineering Manager, Production Manager, Sales Engineer and Applications Engineer. Fleetwood is a Major supplier of conveyance and machinery to the container manufacturing and container filling industries. On November 7, 2008 there was a major surprise celebration highlighting my 38 year career at Fleetwood. Leslie, Christy and Juan, Neil and girlfriend and my 92 year old Father were there as a surprise as well.

1966 - Married my wife Leslie a 1964 graduate of Hinsdale Central. We have two children, Christine 38, and Husband Juan Galarza and Neil 34, who is not married at this time, but is soon to be. No grand children.

I have remained very close with classmates, Dick Schaper, Bob VonLaven and former classmate Bob Kabella since HS. We all grew up in Westchester and have spent many years together. We were also close with Ken Husak until he passed. We have spent many happy times together, fishing, telling the same stories over and over, playing hearts and sipping some red.
